Special Issue in Accounting and Management Review (AMR)

A thematic special issue of the Accounting and Management Review (AMR) is planned to be published following the conference, based on the papers presented at the 5th International Congress on Public Sector Accounting (V CICP), dedicated to the theme "Public Sector Accounting and Accountability: Global Challenges and Opportunities”.

In this context, submissions based on empirical studies, case studies, theoretical approaches, or literature reviews are encouraged, provided that they contribute to advancing knowledge in the fields of public sector accounting, accountability, and public financial management.

Submitted manuscripts may address, among others, the following topics aligned with the conference themes:

History of public sector accounting and the evolution of accounting practices in the public sector;
Education, teaching, and research in public sector accounting;
Public sector accounting as an instrument for creating public value and enhancing accountability;
Financial reporting and transparency in the public sector;
Use of accounting information to support decision-making in public policies;
Digitalisation, emerging technologies, and innovation in public sector accounting and financial reporting;
Use of big data and digital tools in public financial management;
Sustainability reporting and the integration of non-financial information in public administrations;
Public auditing, management control, and public governance;
Public sector accounting standards and reporting standards for public sector entities and non-profit organisations.

The special issue review process will be conducted separately, after the conference review process. Authors of papers accepted at the conference are encouraged to take into account the reviewers’ comments, as well as any feedback received during the conference, when revising their paper before submitting it for consideration for publication in this special issue of AMR.

This special issue of AMR is subject to the number and quality of submissions received. If a special issue cannot be organised, accepted papers may be published in a regular issue of the journal.
